Dinosaurs!

Hi all,

Thought I'd show you the first of a few cards I made while I was off work a couple of weeks ago.  I borrowed a load of stamp sets of a friend and was really looking forward to having a play with the Dinoroar set.  This one was for one of my cousins in Finland - I hope he liked it, it was really fun to make!

Stamp Set: Dinoroar
Ink: Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Basic Black, Early Expresso, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Versamark
Embossing Powder: White
Cardstock: Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
Punches: Build a Cupcake
Accessories: Blender Pen, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Heat Tool, sponger

I actually used the inverse of the cupcake punch as a stencil to make the clouds as at the time I didn't have the corresponding stamps - think it worked quite well as I didn't want it to look punched out.  I decided on the paper piercing right at the end cus I felt it needed a little extra and I like how it finished off the card.

Let me know what you think :)

Lots of Flowers

Hi all,

Been a bit of a rubbish week this week - hurt my back at work on Monday and had to go to hospital :( went in an ambulance and got to have gas and air woo!  Haha was an experience!  Waited at A&E for 5 hours just for them to give me painkillers and send me home.  Anyway, been in lots of pain and had to take the week off work to recover and heal, but it's meant I've managed to make loads of card yay :) most were orders from my mum and brother so I have to wait until they're given to post some of those.  I'm trying to get a stash of different cards made so I can sell some, but until I've got a decent amount, I can't take them anywhere!

Anyhow, today's card I actually made a while ago for a friend and it uses a mixture of Stampin Up! and generic stuff.  Hope you like it :)

Stamp Set: Silhouette Sentiments, Basic Phrases
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Versamark
Stampin' Pastels: Pink Pirouette
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry
Punch: [All non-SU] Butterfly - 1" & 1/8", fancy heart border, 1/8" Flower
Accessories: Mini Brads, Pretty in Pink Grosgrain Ribbon

Some of you may be wondering why I used Versamark and Stampin' Pastels - well, I don't have any markers and I wanted to use my chalks because at the time they were new so I masked off the flowers on the stamp and just stamped the green, then used the stampamajig to then stamp the versamark in the right place.  I then chalked the flowers I wanted coloured.  Sounds like a lot of work for not all that much point?!  Yeah, well, I'm unlikely to do that again haha!

Til next time then!
Have a good week :)

Not a Card?!

Hi folks!

When I started this blog I always said I would not just do cards, but so far that's all I've posted about!  Well, here's my first one that's not a card!

A while ago I decided to make use of some equipment stored away in the house and dabble in a bit of jewelry making!  I found this really pretty shimmery heart pendant so decided to make my friend a present and use that in it - this is the result :)...

As, hopefully, you can see in the photos, it's a silver chain bracelet with a spring ring clasp, the blue and silver round beads and heart are glass lamp beads/heart (I think - I lost the packaging!) and then it has some white seed beads either side of the round beads.  All of the beads are on silver headpins.

Needless to say, she really liked it (I think!) and so I can say that one of my first jewelry making attempts was a success yay!  I'm quite proud of it really :) I love the way it hangs.

Any of you make jewelry?  If you do, where do you get your inspiration?  Would love to do more at some point.  Maybe I'll show you some of my other attempts another time :)

Til next time!

CASE Crazy...

Hi all :)

Today I've got a simple CASEd card again, but not sure where I found the inspiration - if it's yours, then thanks!

Ink: Basic Black, Real Red
Stamp Set: Sweet Summer, Swirls and Curls Verses
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Real Red
Accessories: Blender Pen, Basic Rhinestones

I really like the pop of colour that the butterfly gives to the card, and I like how the rhinestones give it a bit of bling.  Let me know what you think!

Dad Bunting

Today I'm posting my Dad's birthday card.  It was originally supposed to be a Fathers Day card, but it took too long so didn't have time to make another one like it!  Got a thing for the bunting at the moment - it's just so effective!  Let me know what you think!  (Again, sorry for the photo quality!)

Ink: Early Espresso, Night of Navy, Marina Mist
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Night of Navy, Marina Mist
DSP: Elegant Soiree [retired]

Fathers Day

Just a simple one today...

It was Fathers Day on Sunday and so I made two cards for my Dad and Father-in-law.  As I didn't have much time free I just kept it really simple and I CASEd it from a friend's design.  PLUS it was also my Dad's birthday the same day so I'd run out of time after I'd made his birthday card!  (Always takes longer than I think it will).  Unfortunately didn't have a Fathers Day stamp, so just handwrote the sentiment.  Apologies for the quality of the photo - I took the picture late at night so there wasn't enough light :/

Cardstock: Whisper White, Island Indigo
DSP: Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade
Punch: Modern Label

Hope you like :)

Banner Punching

Been in Hull this weekend visiting some friends, which was nice.  Only manage to get up there once a year, and since I last saw them they've had a third child so it was lovely to finally meet him :) Spent some time in York on Saturday and did a lot of kid entertaining.  Their older two brought book after book to us for us to read to them - it's a good job my husband and I love kids!  Haha.

Anyway, got a couple of cards to show today on the same sort of theme - banners!  Really wanted to play with my new bakers twine (which I LOVE) and also to find another use for my modern label punch.  My friend inspired me with various projects made with the punch and so thought I'd have a play too!

'Congrats'

Stamp Set: Just Perfect Alphabet
Ink: Basic Black

I made the 'congrats' card for a friend who had just got engaged, and the 'baby' card I made for a parent who I'd done some babysitting for who'd just had a baby :) Hope you like them!  Let me know what you think :)

Blog blog blog...

I'm starting a blog yay!  Figured I'd give it a go seeing as I spend so long trawling other people's blogs.  Hopefully I can keep it updated with all my craftifications and some musings :)  I'm planning to go back and put some past projects on here to start it off, but we'll see!

You'll find a lot of my craft supplies are Stampin' Up!, but I also have a few bits and pieces left from before I discovered them.  I'm rather limited in my stamp sets, but am building them up slowly!  I'll try and list most the things I use in what I make, but feel free to ask if I miss anything :)

Thought I'd start out with my most recent card I made - my colleague is getting married so I made a card in her wedding colour (coral) from my other colleagues and me.  Hope you like it!  Think it's my favourite card to date :)

Stamp Set: Sprinkled Expressions
Ink: Calypso Coral
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, Whisper White
DSP: Sweet Shop, Domestic Goddess
Extras: Card insert

I don't know about you, but I have fallen in love with some of the patterns in the sweet shop DSP.  So bright and fun!  I think I'm going to be doing lots of playing with it :)

Don't know if anyone will be reading this, but if you do, feel free to let me know what you think!
